One hundred years after the nuclear world war of the 21st Century the descendants of the few survivors brave the jeopardy of a post-apocalyptic world.

This theme is depicted by WOLVES OF WAR, a Symphonic Death Metal band founded 2016 in Elmshorn, Germany. Starting off as an Industrial Metal band by guitarist Martin “Martjom” Wallmann and keyboarder Birjer Horstmann, the project had a distinctive martial sound complemented by orchestral additions and female opera singing, leading to the debut album “Dystopia” in 2019. Through multiple line-up changes and therefore a significant change in sound, the album was re-released in 2020 with Martjom on main vocals. 

Epic, cinematic, post-apocalyptic –

That's the way to describe the music of WOLVES OF WAR. Complex orchestral arrangements and Black metal elements replace the industrial foundation of their debut. During the pandemic, they used the time to work on standalone singles: The song “Wir kommen wieder” featuring Christian Präauer (former Krankheit vocalist)  was released in 2020, followed by “Lycanthropy” in 2021 and “Flatlined” in 2023 as a tribute to the game Cyberpunk 2077. 
With a stronger focus on large soundtrack-like orchestral pieces, the album successor “Wasteland Warfare” has now been unleashed, starting off with the single release of “Lægjarn” and “Fenrir” featuring Sagenbringer, an apocalyptic cocktail somewhere between symphonic and death, spiked with deliberately placed nuances of dark and black metal that captivates the audience. 

The lyrics of their songs lead the audience to fictional worlds such as Fallout or Metro 2033 but they also tell stories of their own post-apocalyptic city “Dystopia”. Through their professional equipment and their individual, hand-made costumes, this band offers a high quality show and a coherent picture of a dystopian future in their live concerts.
